Rev. Jennifer Butler Responds to ACLU Report of Continued Family Separation
Washington, D.C. — An ACLU court brief reports that the Trump administration is continuing to separate families under flimsy excuses of concern for children. Since the court order ending the ‘zero tolerance policy’ which separated families in 2018, 911 children have been separated from their parents.
Rev. Jennifer Butler, CEO, Faith in Public Life:
“Everyone has innate human dignity and deserves the stability of family. For young children, this stability is vital to their health and development. The practice of tearing kids away from their parents is inhumane, immoral and sinful. God will judge us severely. I salute the ACLU for their work exposing these evils and call on the administration to repent and change their practices.”
