Rep. Roybal-Allard, Interfaith Clergy Hold Capitol Hill Press Conference Supporting Passage of a Clean Dream Act

WASHINGTON, DC — On Wednesday, November 1st at 11 a.m., high-level interfaith clergy and community leaders from across the country will hold a press conference at the House Triangle to call on Members of Congress to pass a clean Dream Act before the end of the year. These actions come in response to President Trump’s cancellation of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival Program (DACA) that protected nearly 800,000 immigrant youth who could be swept up in the deportation pipeline if Congress doesn’t pass legislation by December 8th.

Following the press conference, some clergy leaders will engage in legislative visits, and others will move to the Russell Office Building to take prophetic and prayerful action to “Stand with the Saints” through civil disobedience directed at key congressional targets, urging them to recognize the moral imperative of passing a Clean Dream Act.
