Portland Faith Leaders Call on Senator Susan Collins to Defend Health Care and Vote “No” on Graham-Cassidy
Portland, ME — On Thursday, September 21st, at 10 a.m., Portland interfaith clergy and people of faith and conscience will hold a vigil at Lobsterman Park to call on Senator Susan Collins to vote “no” on Congress’ cruel, destructive and immoral Graham-Cassidy bill.
The U.S. Senate is expected to vote on this bill that could strip health care from millions of Americans before a September 30th deadline. Senator Collins faces a historic moral test. Clergy, people of faith and people of conscience from all over the state are calling on her to stand up for children, seniors, communities of color and people with pre-existing conditions.
