National Faith Leader Celebrates Repeal of Trans Military Ban

Washington, D.C. — President Biden issued an executive order today repealing former President Trump’s ban on transgender people serving in the military.

Rev. Jennifer Butler, CEO of Faith in Public Life:

“Transgender people are made in the image of God and must be treated with the same dignity as everyone else. Lifting the previous administration’s cruel and dehumanizing attack on trans service members is a welcome step toward justice and equality for all. Everyone has a right to pursue a career and serve our country with dignity and without fear of discrimination. The faith community will continue to press the Biden administration to support and empower our LGBTQ neighbors and family in the weeks, months and years ahead.”
