National Christian Leader Laments Sri Lanka Easter Bombing

Washington, D.C. — On Easter Sunday, terrorists bombed several churches and hotels in cities across Sri Lanka. Currently, 290 people have been reported killed and over 500 wounded. The investigation into who is responsible continues.

Rev. Jennifer Butler, Presbyterian pastor and CEO, Faith in Public Life:

“Yesterday’s bombings in Sri Lanka are an egregious attack on our shared humanity on a day when Christians around the world celebrate Christ’s resurrection. But my faith gives me hope that these bombings are not the end of the story. I pray that those who mourn are comforted, those who are wounded are healed, and that justice be done. May we all work together to build bridges among all faiths and reject violence, division and the politicization of religion in the wake of these inexcusable acts.”
