Mayor Dailey and Faith Leaders Call on the Tallahassee City Commission to Ban Conversion Therapy

Tallahassee, FL — On Wednesday, March 11, at 3:30 p.m. Mayor John Dailey, faith leaders and impacted Tallahassee community members will convene to urge the city commission to vote to ban LGBTQ conversion therapy in the city. This discredited practice purports to change the sexual orientation or gender identity of LGBTQ patients.

The faith community is calling on Tallahassee lawmakers to prohibit conversion therapy practices. Conversion therapy is a spiritual and psychologically abusive practice. The medical and psychological communities reject it, and survivors say it is traumatizing. So-called conversion therapy denies the God-given dignity of LGBTQ youth who are subjected to it.

WHEN:

March 11, at 3:30 p.m.

WHERE:

Hartsfield Elementary School, 1414 Chowkeebin Nene, Tallahassee, FL 32301

Mayor John Dailey, City of Tallahassee
