Local Pastor Responds to Conviction of Travis McMichael, Greg McMichael and William Ryan for Murder of Ahmaud Arbery
Albany, GA – On Wednesday, Travis McMichael, Greg McMichael and William Ryan were found guilty of murdering Ahmaud Arbery.
Rev. Joshua Nelson, Emanuel Seventh Day Adventist, Albany, Georgia
“I traveled to Brunswick on Thursday, and to hear the news today is surreal. While I agree with today’s verdict, no happiness comes from a case this tragic. True, restorative justice won’t come until we create a more just world where Ahmaud’s mother doesn’t have to push so hard just to have her son’s killers arrested. True justice comes by electing officials that will abolish the antiquated laws from the days of slavery that embolden white supremacists.”
