Leader of National Faith Network Condemns Trump Administration’s Heartless Attack on the Transgender Americans

Washington, D.C. — According to a New York Times report, the Trump administration plans to narrowly defining gender as a biological, immutable condition determined by genitalia at birth. This radical redefinition, which is rejected by the medical community, would gut the civil rights of transgender Americans.

Rev. Jennifer Butler, Founding CEO, Faith in Public Life:
“By seeking to remove federal recognition of transgender Americans, the Trump administration is trampling on the civil rights and human dignity of our transgender family, friends and neighbors. This is wrong, and people of faith will not stand for it. I wholeheartedly condemn this policy and call on the president to reverse it.”
