Faith Leaders Across the Country Hold an Immigration Week of Action, Tell Congress that Families Belong Together and Free
People of faith will cry out justice for all migrant children and families saying that families belong in community, not in cages.
Washington, DC — Starting Monday, September 24th, faith leaders and community members from across the nation will come together and hold an “Families Belong in Communities Not Cages: a Week of Action”.
Across the country, more than 200 children who were ripped from their parents arms remain separated, including six children under five. An unprecedented 12,800 children are currently being held in detention. These grave injustices need to stop. Instead Congress is debating if it wants change the laws to detain families indefinitely and invest billions more to separate and detain more immigrant families.
