Dr. Emily Reimer-Barry, Ph.D.

Emily Reimer-Barry, Ph.D., is Associate Professor in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of San Diego (USA). She teaches courses in theological ethics utilizing feminist and antiracist pedagogies. Her articles have appeared in Theological Studies, Theology and Sexuality, Proceedings of the Catholic Theological Society of America, the Journal of Moral Theology, and the Journal of the Society of Christian Ethics. She is a contributor to the Catholic Moral Theology blog and The Forum blog for Catholic Theological Ethics in the World Church. Dr. Reimer-Barry’s research explores themes in fundamental moral theology, including the role of experience in theological method, as well as topics that probe the relationship between social justice and sexuality, including HIV-prevention, birth control, gender justice in marriage traditions, and reproductive justice. She is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame (B.A.), Weston Jesuit School of Theology (M.T.S.), and Loyola University Chicago (Ph.D.).
