National Faith Leader Denounces Suspension of WHO Funding Amid COVID-19

Washington, D.C. — President Trump announced the federal government will cut off its funding for the World Health Organization amid the COVID-19 crisis.

Rev. Jennifer Butler, CEO, Faith in Public Life:

“As communities nationwide face critical shortages of COVID-19 tests and medical equipment amid a pandemic, President Trump must demonstrate leadership and save American lives, not attack an organization that fights these kinds of disasters. We are called to love and protect our neighbors, not deflect blame and waste time while people die. Defunding the Word Health Organization will kill God’s children. The president must relent and repent.”
