GA Clergy and Community Leaders Urge Lawmakers to Pass Comprehensive Civil Rights Bill with LGBTQ Protections​

Atlanta, Ga. — On Thursday, March 21st, faith leaders and Georgia Equality called on lawmakers to protect LGBTQ Georgians by passing a comprehensive civil rights bill.

As one of only three states with no comprehensive law protecting residents and visitors from discrimination of any kind, even racial or religious discrimination, Georgia lags behind almost the entire nation.

For the second consecutive session, state lawmakers have introduced legislation to enact  comprehensive, LGBTQ-inclusive civil rights protections: House Bill 19. Passing HB 19 would bring Georgia’s civil rights laws in line with the rest of the country and make it a leader in protecting LGBTQ Americans.
