BISHOP TONY MINOR ON 9TH DAY OF FASTING UNTIL SENATOR PORTMAN WILL MEET TO DISCUSS VOTING RIGHTS

Prominent clergy and community leader Bishop Tony Minor is fasting until Sen. Portman responds to a request to meet.

Cleveland, OH — On Monday, December 13th, Bishop Tony Minor started a fast until Sen. Portman will grant a meeting to discuss voting rights. About the effort, Bishop Minor says,

“So many gave up their lives and others endured so much pain and suffering for the advancement of voting. The least I can do is to “offer my body as a living sacrifice.” I joined other Americans across the nation who are fasting for voting rights. I will continue my fast until Senator Portman honors our request for at least a digital meeting to discuss voting rights. We call on him to support the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act and become the bi-partisan voice in support of federal policy, even if it means addressing the filibuster.”
