Previous to her role at FPL, she served as Managing Director of Care in Action, supporting the domestic workers movement to translate people power into political impact. Previous to that role, Heather served as co-director of Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ), co-director of GetEQUAL, and Chief Operating Officer for the New Organizing Institute. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Berry College in Rome, Georgia, and a Master of Divinity degree from Wake Forest University Divinity School. Heather hails from Kentucky and loudly cheers on the UK Wildcats each basketball season. She also serves on the boards of The Open Church in Baltimore, Maryland, and of Faithful America.
