Faith in Public Life advances the moral imperative for a just, inclusive and equitable country where everyone is thriving and can live into their full humanity.
Our coalition of influential faith leaders reflect the diversity of the nation, collectively discern, set faith-forward strategy, and take transformative action.
Building cultures of belonging and leveraging our collective power through our multifaith and multiracial coalition leads us closer to realizing a healthy and equitable democracy.
Common public narratives do not offer people of faith room for nuance and discernment within their own relationships with the Divine. Fruitful discernment requires opportunities and conditions for people to consider their faith traditions, foundational texts, wisdom from their community and their own lived experiences. We must create and protect spaces that allow people to grapple with with complexity in a more than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Transformative action includes understanding that we are a part of a greater whole. Whether that’s part of an ecosystem of movements or a part of a greater spiritual whole, understanding our purpose and our place allows us to move humbly and confidently to contribute to larger transformational change. By building and using our transformative collective power we’re able to courageously pursue justice and move towards communities living in joy and freedom.
Our faith-forward strategy integrates religious or spiritual principles, values, and narratives into an overarching strategy for bringing our vision to reality. This means building cultures of belonging and leveraging the collective power of our multifaith and multiracial coalition, leading us closer to a healthy and equitable democracy.
As faith leaders, our role extends beyond the walls of our places of worship; we are also called to be representatives of our faith in our communities. Advocating towards a free, fair and safe electoral process is a part of that representation, echoing the mandate to care for all creation.
Throughout our sacred texts, compassion is a beacon guiding us towards a deeper understanding of each person’s dignity and our dependence on each other. When we, as faith leaders, push for comprehensive reproductive health care and equitable access to that care, we embody the divine principles of love, justice, and respect, ensuring that every individual’s dignity and freedom are upheld.
