Od’Juan Whitfield is the Democracy Reform Organizer in Jacksonville, Florida. After leaving his home in Indianapolis, he served in the United States Army, stationed at Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, GA, and served in Iraq and Kuwait following 9/11/2001. After the military, Od’Juan worked in various social services and political organizing roles in Jacksonville. He is politically active, working on campaigns for Faith in Public Life’s Faithful Voter program, serving as a regional organizer for the NAACP and working on several political campaigns.

Rev. Matthew Johnson graduated from Morehouse College before receiving a Master of Divinity from the University of Chicago. He is an ordained Baptist minister and currently serves at Park Avenue Baptist Church as Chaplain in Residence. He comes to Faith in Public Life as a minister, non-profit professional, and organizer.
Rev. Johnson was drawn to Faith in Public Life because serving as the Interim Georgia Organizing Manager offers him the opportunity to bring his full self into work as a faith leader deeply committed to advancing our values in the public sphere.

Faith in Public Life Ohio leverages long-term relationships to empower grasstops leaders and influence public policy on FPL’s key issues.
Rev. Marian serves as the Ohio Organizing Manager for Faith and Public Life. She is based in Yellow Springs, OH and is a retired Unitarian Universalist minister. She has earned degrees in business administration, theology, and ministry. Born and raised in the South, her dissertation, “Begotten Legacies: Examining the Soul of Inherited Racism” explored deep-rooted family stories and how they have impacted generational narratives and what it means to love our neighbor.
Rev. Marian is the founder of Fostering Interfaith Relationships on the Eastside (Seattle), Rainbow Connexion, and has served on the Board of Directors for Faith Choice Ohio. She is a long-time activist, working for peace, environmental justice, and inclusion. Her hobbies include gardening, swimming, and anything creative. Doggie Fiona and Maddie cat keep her company in a house built in the late 1800’s.
