Sidney Hargro
Sidney Hargro is a philanthropy strategist, speaker, and mindful leadership coach and the Executive Director of the LeadersTrust. The LeadersTrust is a national social enterprise that invests deeply in the wellness, development, and capacity of social movement leaders who work in pursuit of a liberatory future. Hargro is also a Lecturer in the School of Social Policy and Practice at the University of Pennsylvania, teaching equity-centered social impact measurement.
Prior to the LeadersTrust, Hargro led Philanthropy Network Greater Philadelphia, focusing on helping foundations evolve their philanthropic practices – governance, strategy, grantmaking, endowment investment, procurement, etc. – to lead with intersectional racial equity and trust. He has also served as a community philanthropy leader as Executive Director of the Community Foundation of South Jersey and as Senior Officer of Strategy and Organizational Learning at the Columbus Foundation, the nation’s seventh largest community foundation.
Hargro graduated from North Carolina A&T State University and the Ohio State University with bachelor and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and the United Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree, focusing on Liberation Theology, Community Power and Organizing.
He serves on the boards of regional and national organizations including World Education Services, National Art Strategies, Independence Public Media Foundation, and Independence Blue Cross Foundation. His interests include documentary photography and storytelling with a focus on uplifting the people, passions, and places that comprise the fabric of our world. He resides in Southern New Jersey.
