Christian Women Join ACLU to Rally for Immigrant Children, Call on Trump Administration to End Zero Tolerance

Women of faith will cry out to demand that families are kept together

Brownsville, TX -- On Thursday, June 28 at 11 a.m. CDT, a delegation of 11 Christian women will join members of the ACLU, families, advocates, and allies to Rally for Immigrant Children and to confront the Trump administration’s zero tolerance policy. The rally will take place in Linear Park, located across the street from the Brownsville Federal Court, where immigrants are being prosecuted en masse for crossing the border into the United States.

Participants in the action will stand in solidarity with immigrants being prosecuted, as well as those waiting for days or weeks to apply for asylum at nearby ports of entry; thousands detained without due process at ICE’s Port Isabel mega-jail; and children caged by Border Patrol in “freezers.” Local residents and community members with firsthand experience of family separation and detention will share their stories.
