National Progressive Faith Leader Denounces Trump’s Attack on Opponents’ Religious Beliefs

Washington, D.C. -- At a rally in North Carolina, President Trump said, referring to Democrats: they "want to dismantle, demolish and destroy everything that you've gained. Whether it has to do with religion, our evangelicals ...what we've done for them and for religion is so important. The other side, not big believers in religion, I can tell you."

Rev. Jennifer Butler, CEO, Faith in Public Life (Washington, DC):

“President Trump is ignoring the millions of people of faith who thirst for justice and oppose his immoral agenda of division, oppression and discrimination. My faith demands that I fight for justice. And I’m not alone. Whether Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Sikh, Hindu or a member of another religion, our faith gives us hope for a future free of the greed and hatred preached by the president.”
