National Faith Leader Welcomes Formalization of Impeachment Inquiry, Calls for Justice

Washington, D.C. -- The U.S. House of Representatives just voted to formalize an impeachment inquiry against President Trump.

Rev. Jennifer Butler, CEO, Faith in Public Life (Washington, DC):

“No one is above the law, especially the president. Congress has a moral and constitutional responsibility, regardless of party, to defend democracy from abuse of power and foreign interference. Formal initiation of the impeachment inquiry is an important step in the right direction. I pray that Members of Congress have the courage to follow the truth wherever it leads and hold the president accountable for any wrongdoing discovered.”
