Matthew graduated from Morehouse College before receiving a Master of Divinity from the University of Chicago. He is an ordained baptist minister and currently serves at Park Avenue Baptist Church as Chaplain in Residence. Matthew comes to Faith in Public Life with a breadth of experience as a minister, non-profit professional, and political organizer.

Before joining FPL, Matthew served as Ministry Coordinator for Church of the Common Ground, an Episcopal Mission that predominantly serves the houseless community in Downtown Atlanta.  Matthew also works with young organizers and activists to develop mutual aid programs serving Atlanta’s most vulnerable populations. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys practicing yoga, boxing, and studying political movements.
