Horsed Noah serves as Executive Director of the Masjid Abubakar Asiddiq Islamic Center (AAIC) on the southwest side of Columbus, Ohio. Founded in August 2004, the Masjid AAIC is a multi-ethnic and vibrant Islamic center that caters to the religious, educational, and social needs of the Muslim communities of Central Ohio. Today, more than 600 people pray at the Masjid each Friday.
Horsed Noah is also a community leader and activist in Columbus and the greater Central Ohio region, where he is a Faith in Public Life leader active on issues of social justice and civil rights. He is the Outreach Director of Somali Islamic Centers of Ohio (SICO), a group representing six Somali mosques and religious centers in Ohio. The Columbus area has the country’s second largest population of Somalis after the Twin Cities in Minneapolis. Horsed has been a leader with Faith in Public Life and in Central Ohio on issues such as police accountability, protesting the Muslim Ban, and as an active leader in the Ohio Poor People’s Campaign movement.
