Chynnah has committed her talents to assist the founding Executive Director of Faith in Public Life, Rev. Jennifer Butler. In this capacity, she strengthens the daily operation of our office by facilitating communication, coordination, and support across the organization so that staff leaders have what they need to succeed. The year prior to joining FPL, Chynnah served in the Franciscan Volunteer Ministry program in Silver Spring, MD where she funneled her love for liberation theology through teaching and immigrant support networking in Silver Spring, MD. Chynnah is a graduate from the University of South Florida where she assisted with the USF This Bridge program research that places a strategic focus on interdisciplinary arts exposure to Muslim, Arab and Middle Eastern culture to shift attitudes on U.S. policy and Islamophobia. She has 7 years of experience in houseless community advocacy work and has keen insights into growing partnerships, mobilization strategy and non-profit project management. She spends her time out of the office as an organizer with Jewish Voice for Peace’s Occupation Free DC campaign, where she focuses on partnerships and community-based solutions to end state violence against communities of color.
