To Mark One-Year Anniversary of Sanctuary, OH Faith Leaders to Stand with Edith Espinal, Call on ICE and Elected Officials to Let Edith Stay

 

Following the press conference, faith leaders will lead the community in a prayer vigil for Edith Espinal, her family and for the community of Columbus.

 

Columbus, OH --  On Tuesday, October 2nd at 6 p.m., faith leaders will stand in solidarity with Edith Espinal on the one-year anniversary of her entry into sanctuary at Columbus Mennonite Church to avoid deportation. Edith, a Columbus mother of three, has remained at the church ever since.

Edith is one of a few people in sanctuary in Ohio right now. She was the first official member of the Central Ohio Worker Center and has been involved in worker and immigrant rights organizing since 2014.

WHAT:
Faith leaders stand in solidarity and call on ICE and Ohio elected officials #LetEdithStay. Following the press conference, faith leaders will hold a prayer vigil.
