Faith Leaders Urge Gov. Deal to Veto “Campus Carry” Bill, Keep Students Safe
Atlanta, Ga. — On Thursday, April 20th, a prominent group of Georgia faith leaders will hold a press conference urging Gov. Nathan Deal to veto H.B. 280, also known as “campus carry.” Gov. Deal vetoed similar reckless legislation last year, and interfaith clergy will call on him to show moral leadership once again. These leaders, representing Outcry: Interfaith Voices Against Gun Violence, believe this irresponsible bill would turn our state’s public colleges and universities -- sacred sanctuaries of learning -- into more dangerous and violent spaces.
