Faith & Refugee Leaders Oppose President Trump’s Plan to Zero Out Refugee Program and End Asylum for Central Americans

Columbus, Ohio -- On Tuesday July 23rd at 11 a.m. faith and refugee leaders will hold a press conference at Community Refugee and Immigration Services’ offices in Columbus denouncing the Trump administration's recent plans to zero out the refugee program and end asylum for Central Americans.

On the heels of Trump barring virtually everyone from seeking asylum at the U.S. southern border, Administration officials have proposed setting a refugee admissions ceiling of zero in 2020. This is happening during the worst refugee crisis in history with more than 25 million refugees worldwide in need of safety. Advocates and activists will highlight the Administration’s simultaneous attack on our nation’s asylum and refugee programs.
