Faith and Community Leaders Hold Mother’s Day Concert for Immigrant Mom of 3 Living in Sanctuary

Columbus, Ohio -- On Friday, May 10th at 6:30 p.m., Edith Espinal will spend her second Mother’s Day in sanctuary at Columbus Mennonite Church. For the past nineteen months, Espinal has remained safe from attempts to deport her and separate her from her family. On May 10th, the day Mother’s Day is celebrated in Mexico, faith and community leaders will honor Espinal’s struggle with performances by a diverse group of bands, including Good Time Girls, TOTAL FARA FARA, and The Castros.

In addition to music, there will be advocacy activities, Mother’s Day crafts, original immigrant art for sale, and the opportunity for anyone to share their creativity on banner art in support of Edith.
