DRIVING WHILE BLACK

Ministers and community leaders are outraged that Rev. Kevin and Ms. Barnetta Cosby were stopped by and harassed by local police Saturday night. The Cosbys, of St. Stephen Church and Simmons College, were merely driving home. Unfortunately, they were “driving while black.”

Ministers and community leaders will

  1. Express their sympathy and support for Rev. and Ms. Cosby

  2. Call for systemic improvement in public policy, and

  3. Announce a rally in the near future

NOTE: the organizations are NOT demanding that the offending officers be fired.
