Faith and Community Leaders Join Farmworker Women to Call on Wendy’s to End Sexual Violence in the Fields

COLUMBUS, OH -- On Monday, October 23, at 4:30 p.m., interfaith clergy and community members will join farmworker women leaders of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) and allies to call on Wendy’s executives to hear their stories and make commitments to ending sexual violence in the fields. Wendy’s is the largest fast food chain to not sign on to the Fair Food Program that ensures safety and equality in the agriculture industry. With 4 out of 5 farmworker women experiencing sexual harassment or assault in agriculture, it’s time to cultivate dignity and respect for the women who harvest the food we eat.
