2006 Religion and Public Life Survey

Americans support the role of religion in public life but are bothered by both liberal and conservative methods: 69% said liberals are too secular, 49% said conservatives are too assertive. The poll also examines perceptions of each party’s “friendliness” toward religion and respondents’ association with the religious right or the religious left.
