Rev. Osagyefo Uhuru Sekou is considered one of most formidable religious leaders of his generation. He is the author of the critically acclaimed Urbansouls, which takes a refreshing approach to the spiritual crisis in America. Since its February 2001 publication, Rev. Sekou has given over 1000 lectures at colleges, universities, and community groups, and served on the platform committee for the National Political Hip Hop Convention in 2004. A third generation Pentecostal preacher, Rev. Sekou is a Professor of Preaching at the Seminary Consortium of Urban Pastoral Education in the Graduate Theological Urban Studies Program in Chicago, IL. Currently, Rev. Sekou is National Coordinator of Clergy and Laity Concerned about Iraq, a program of United for Peace and Justice. Rev. Sekou has a forthcoming book, entitled Gods, Gays, and Guns.
