Dr. David P. Gushee is one of the leading evangelical voices in the field of Christian ethics and cultural/political engagement. He is the Distinguished University Professor of Christian Ethics at Mercer University, McAfee School of Theology in Atlanta. Gushee previously served for ten years at Union University, a leading Baptist university in Jackson, Tennessee, after three years on the faculty of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and three years on the staff of Evangelicals for Social Action. Beyond his work at Mercer, he is the president of Evangelicals for Human Rights, a columnist for Associated Baptist Press, and a contributing editor for Christianity Today. A widely sought speaker, Gushee is the author or editor of nine books, including the award-winning Kingdom Ethics and the forthcoming The Future of Faith in American Politics: The Public Witness of the Evangelical Center. He and his family reside in Atlanta.
