Jack Chomsky serves as Cantor at Congregation Tifereth Israel in Columbus, Ohio, a Conservative Jewish congregation. He is a leader of We Believe Ohio, a movement of Ohio religious leaders dedicated to uniting diverse religious voices to achieve social justice. We Believe Ohio aims to engage congregations in the electoral process and preach from the pulpit about God's call to work toward social justice for all. Cantor Chomsky coordinates his congregation’s Social Action programming and previously served as co-President of B.R.E.A.D. (Building Responsibility, Equality And Dignity). He has served on the Steering Committee of the Columbus Jewish Federation's Partnership 2000 Project and has led members of his congregation and cantors from across the country on trips to Israel and to tour Jewish sites in Eastern Europe. Cantor Chomsky is Vice-President of the Cantors Assembly, the world’s largest association of professional hazzanim (cantors). He has often appeared on the subject of Jewish music, Jewish religion and Israel on local radio and television, and has been featured numerous times as a columnist in The Columbus Dispatch.
