I dont mind politicians who have faith — no encourage it, I embrace it.

But suddenly every candidate is a believer and isnt afraid to say so. That’s a great thing for our nation if its true.

There is a great discussion about faith and politics found at — http://redletterbelievers.blogspot.com/2007/06/politicians-and-faith.html

Thoughts on Soledad’s questions anyone? I thought there was a lot left to be desired… one of the most exciting things happening right now in the religious community right now is the tremendous amount of energy around issues like global AIDS, genocide in Darfur, the environment and human rights- but rather than venture into this new and exciting territory- that actually HAS gotten some mainstream coverage- when she did ask about issues, she stuck to the far right’s frame on same-sex marriage and creation and returned to same questions we have heard in every other debate about Iraq. I am not surprised that this was the focus that CNN wanted to take given – it’s consistent with cable news trends in coverage on all channels – but shows we still have a lot of work to do to shift the frame of debate when it comes to religious moral values issues.
